Ohio Valley Industrial Services manufactures a complete line of removable-reusable insulation jackets to meet most industrial, commercial and laboratory insulating requirements. HotCaps™ are custom designed removable reusable insulation covers that can be manufactured to fit heat exchangers, turbines, pumps, valves, flanges, expansion joints, and other hard to insulate equipment. HotCaps™ are also cost effective and provide the user with the energy savings associated with permanent insulation and the flexibility of reusing the cover. Skilled technicians are available from Ohio Valley Industrial Services to select and design the appropriate insulation cover for your toughest insulating requirements.
HotCaps™ can be fabricated from a wide range of materials depending upon the system temperature and specific service environment. They are also used in applications ranging form cryogenic temperatures to 1800 F. The insulation jackets are made from various industrial grades of woven fiberglass fabric encapsulating high temperature insulation. Various combinations of jacketing materials, insulation, and closure devices can be employed to handle most applications.
Our HotCaps™ Removable Insulation Covers are completely produced in house. The teflon loaded fiberglass and different types of insulation we use for the blankets are cut on our HotCaps™ Cutting Machine.
What are SoundCaps™?
SoundCaps™ by HotCaps™ are a direct solution to sound control for any application. They are custom designed around your 2D drawing, 3D model, or already existing system to reduce sound directly at its source. These blankets are completely removable, reusable, and constructed using the highest quality materials for both indoor and outdoor use. They are designed to handle temperatures ranging from cryogenics to +2000F.
How Do They Work?
These covers reduce noise at the source by absorbing and reducing the reflection of sound waves. The layer(s) of fiberglass insulation act as a decoupler and absorber while the mass loaded vinyl blocks the transmission of noise from the area. They are designed specifically for your application using many different thermal insulation as well as different densities of loaded vinyl, which allows a wide range of temperature ratings and insertion losses.
The combination of thermal and acoustical insulation allow SoundCaps™ to be used in many different applications, including but not limited to:
- Exhaust systems
- Metering stations
- Building Penetrations
SlickWrap™ are made with 1″ E Glass that is manufactured to conform with the requirements of Military Specification MIL-1-16411 Type II, ASTM-C-1086-96 and Coast Guard Specification for Incombustible Materials #164.009 and MIL-I-24244. This is a fiberglass mat composed of 100% “E” type glass fibers which are put into web form and mechanically needles together without chemical binders. Material has a 1200°F continuous temperature rating.
SlickWrap™ are also covered with 16.5 oz. Teflon coated fiberglass cloth. Material has a 550°F continuous temperature rating. Will provide excellent chemical, oil, abrasion and weather resistance. This is flame retardant as well. The insulation is held together with nylon velcro that insures a tight fit.
Extend-O-Mat™ 3000 is durable, waterproof, and weather resistant. It is manufactured with a heavy duty vinyl laminated, polyester scrim jacketing encapsulating a high tech closed cell memory foam cushion. It has excellent strength and shock absorption, and is impervious to mildew, mold, rot, and bacteria.
This can be rinsed off and folded in seconds, and is compact enough to fit in small areas. It is light weight and comes with an easy to grip carrying handle.
Extend-O-Mat™ protects your knees, back, and clothing when:
- working in greasy, oily, or muddy areas
- doing emergency roadside repairs
- working outdoors in bad weather
- automotive repairs
It is also a weather resistant extremely durable light weight work mat.
Extend-O-Mat™ 7200 is durable, waterproof, and weather resistant. The mat is 72” long, and is designed for sleeping outdoors and camping. They function both as a drop cloth and a comfortable cushion.
These are lightweight, fold up in a matter of seconds, and are easily carried using the rugged two inch wide polypropylene belted handle.
They are also made of fire resistant closed cell foam padding.
Also available is the Extend-O-Mat™ 100. This smaller version makes a great sporting bleacher cushion!
The Extend-O-Mat 3000, Extend-O-Mat 100, and Extend-O-Mat 7200 can all be purchased in a variety of colors, including grey, white, blue, red, yellow, and black.
Heat Trace for Freeze Protection

SRL, Self-Regulating Low-Temperature Cable
Chromalox SRL self-regulating heating cable provides safe, reliable heat tracing for freeze protection of metal and plastic pipes, valves, tanks, and similar applications. Constructed of industrial grade 16 AWG buss wire with a tinned copper braid and optional overjacketing, SRL ensures operating integrity in Division 2 hazardous environments as well as certain corrosive industrial environments. SRL heating cable has a maximum maintenance temperature rating of 150°F (65°C).
SRP, Self-Regulating Process-Temperature Cable
Chromalox SRP self-regulating heating cable provides safe, reliable heat tracing for process maintenance applications to 225°F (110˚C) or freeze protection of pipes and tanks with high heat losses. Constructed of industrial grade 16 AWG buss wire with a tinned copper braid and optional overjacketing, SRP cable ensures operating integrity in most hostile industrial environments.
SRM, Self-Regulating Medium-Temperature Cable
SRM self-regulating heating cable provides safe, reliable heat tracing for process temperature maintenance and freeze protection of pipes, valves, tanks and similar applications. Constructed of industrial grade 16 AWG buss wire with metal braid and optional overjacketing, Chromalox SRM cable ensures operating integrity in most hostile industrial environments. The 420°F (215°C) maximum exposure temperature rating allows steam cleaning of process equipment with up to 300 psig (2 MPa) steam.
CWM, Constant-Wattage Medium-Temperature Cable
Chromalox CWM constant-wattage heating cable is a proven, reliable solution for industrial process temperature maintenance and freeze protection. CWM cable features a parallel heating core that produces uniform thermal output over its entire length. It is flexible at most ambient temperatures and can be wrapped around piping and complex fittings. It is rugged, easy to monitor and maintain temperature, and has zero inrush at start-up. With 392°F (200°C) fIuoropolymer electrical insulation overjacketing, CWM cable has outstanding electrical and thermal properties, and is well suited for most chemically hostile environments.
